The Aged Woman Passes on the Secrets of Life to Herself as a Baby
charcoal and modeling paste on canvas
two panels, each 50" X 42" (total: 50" X 84")

This is a double portrait of one person - who came into this world with innate wisdom.

Technical Info: Originally intended as an under-drawing for a painting, the concept was realized at this black and white stage.

More Technical Info: the modeling paste in the environment is like a thick plaster coating. Textured objects were impressed into it leaving a three-dimensional and tactile surface.
